Refocus

Psalm 34 Of David, when he changed his behavior before Achish, so that he drove him out, and he went away. 1 I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. 3 Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together! 4 I sought the Lord, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. 5 Those who look to Him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. 6 This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. 7 The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and delivers them. 8 Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! 9 Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints, for those who fear Him have no lack! 10 The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. 11 Come, O children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. 12...

The Most Famous Verses about Love

John 3:16-21 16  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. 17  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. 18  Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19  And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. 20  For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. 21  But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.” Throughout the Gospels we witness the on-going verbal battle between the Jesus and the Pharisees. (Well, it’s mostly verbal. The...

Love is a Verb

John 13:9-13 9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. 12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. I have spoken of it before and will most likely speak of it again. Imagine what happened inside the minds of the Disciples as they pieced together their experiences with Jesus after witnessing His death and resurrection. Imagine seeing Jesus ascend into heaven remembering that this same Jesus is the One who knelt to wash your feet. In that moment I would be undone. We can totally relate to the words of Peter. “Nope. You will not wash my feet.” I would have said the same thing. I can’t even put myself into that posit...
