Retreat Day 2

Proverbs 29:25
Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in The Lord is kept safe.

Psalm 27:1, 13-14
1 The Lord is my lights and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?
13 I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of The Lord in the land of the living. 
14 Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for The Lord.

These retreats are always rather an organic experience when shared with a group of church working professionals who love God and seek to serve Him with their lives. I'm always humbled and honored to be in their presence. The way we design these retreats is that 4 volunteers offer up a Bible study over the course of our 40 or so hours together. We worship with song and prayer then dive into the study. Generally, each study lasts for about 2 hours. We're going to take a brief break from Daniel just for the rest of the week. I am on a professional / personal / spiritual retreat. This is an annual event that takes me out of normal everyday life and gives an opportunity for an attitude adjustment and perspective renewal. But, I don't want you to think I've forgotten about you. Instead of writing about Daniel, I'm going to share whatever is happening on a spiritual level here at the retreat. With that in mind, I want to share Psalm 13.

1 How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? 
2  How long must I take counsel in my soul and have sorrow in my heart all the day How long shall my enemy be exalted over me? 
3 Consider and answer me, O Lord my God; light up my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death, 
4 lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,”  lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken.
